About Us

Welcome to Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter Schools - Flightline Middle School Campus

Flightline Middle School is a tuition-free, open-enrollment, public charter school located on the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Our campus enrolls scholars in fifth through eighth grades from both military and non-military families.* Together our students, teachers, leaders, and partners create an environment that empowers our scholars to achieve their best.

Since opening in 2011, our school has perpetually offered exceptional educational opportunities to our scholars. Our school has earned the top ranking for academic schools in Jacksonville since its inception.

We are proud of the level of success of our scholars, but when your child enrolls in Flightline Middle School they gain an experience that goes beyond academics. They have opportunities to explore instrumental music, vocal music, art, STEAM/robotics, foreign language studies and they have the opportunity to participate in Gifted and Talented studies.

We know that students need a school experience that is balanced. We also offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities including track, basketball, dance, volleyball, yearbook, and student council.

Please feel free to contact us at any time to learn more about how our award-winning curriculum and dedicated team’s commitment to supporting Every Student, Every Voice, Every Day can help your child excel.

*Our school is open to both military and non-military families; we will provide Air Force Base access badges for non-military families to access the installation.

A Culture that Makes a Difference

Our Culture

We understand that our scholars have unique needs and interests. Flightline Middle School offers programs that foster more than just the academic success of our scholars. Our culture offers the social and emotional support that our scholars need to ensure that Every Child in our schools is given the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and succeed.

Flightline’s unique culture includes:

Utilizing Restorative Practices
We follow a Restorative Practice Disciplinary System that focuses on developing positive and changing negative behaviors with the overall goal of restoring relationships and keeping our scholars engaged in the classroom.

Creating a Family-like Environment
We have a dedicated and seasoned staff who truly understands the challenges middle-school-aged children go through. We foster a “family-like” atmosphere where every staff member takes ownership of every scholar.

Building Social and Emotional Character
We center our focus on building scholars’ social/emotional character and academic performance.

Fostering a Safe and Nurturing Classroom Environment

  • Deep and creative thinking are accomplished when scholars feel safe and nurtured in their surroundings. We create campus and classroom environments that are predictable, orderly, and physically and emotionally safe. In order to achieve this, we adhere to the following practices:

  • We maintain a constant pulse on scholars’ social-emotional well-being so we can support their growth and help them proactively work through any challenges they face at school, or in the real world.

  • We employ an operations team to ensure that our facility is exceptionally clean and safe from hazards and outside threats. We conduct drills each month to ensure our students and staff members are well prepared in the event of an emergency.

  • We warmly welcome parents and guardians visiting and being involved in the school. When you arrive at the school, please go directly to the main office to sign in and obtain a visitor’s pass. When you are ready to leave school, please go to the main office, return the visitor’s pass, and sign out.
