Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School has been awarded a $997 Red Ribbon Grant from the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association (ASA) to support its ongoing efforts to promote drug-free and healthy schools.

Since 2017, The Red Ribbon Grant program provides funding to Arkansas schools that develop and implement drug prevention and awareness initiatives. The awarded funds will help Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School expand its Red Ribbon Week activities, educational campaigns, and student-led initiatives that encourage positive, drug-free lifestyles.

Jacksonville Lighthouse School Counselor, Cynethia Easter, who authored and submitted the proposal, expressed her excitement:

“Our goal is to create a culture where students feel empowered to make positive choices, both inside and outside the classroom. This grant allows us to bring those lessons to life through interactive programs and community engagement during Red Ribbon Week and beyond.”

Pulaski County Sheriff, Eric S. Higgins, added:

“We are excited to represent the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association and present this award to Lighthouse. It’s our duty and mission to help children make responsible decisions and stay on the right path. Investing in our youth is one of the most effective ways to build safer, stronger communities.”

LaShawnDa Noel, CEO of Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School, also shared her appreciation for the recognition and support:

“Every child deserves the tools and guidance to make healthy choices, and this grant allows us to strengthen our programs that empower scholars to grow into responsible and confident individuals.”
