Public Service Through Civic Engagement
Honoring the Legacy of Congressman and Civil Rights Leader John Lewis
Hosted by Arkansas Lighthouse Academies
Hear from the perspectives of scholars, educators, and community leaders while inspiring youth civic engagement and storytelling throughout our community.
Discussions will surround Arkansas Lighthouse Academies 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. oratorical contestants and civil rights activist John Lewis.
He championed the need for civic engagement while challenging fellow educators, scholars, and community stakeholders to create an equitable and just society. The discussion also will examine photography's unique role in diversity, equity, and inclusion work. This is our way of modeling how scholars can create convening spaces to discuss important issues.
